In addition to the general volunteers, they also have needs for:
Sustainability Zero Waste Educators (guide people on sorting compostables and recyclables and in completing other aspects of our zero-waste initiative)
Passport Project
Help children complete a cultural scavenger hunt in the Gardens (provide backup for the garden delegates).
Bilateral Language Ambassadors/Survey takers:
Work with students from the ELS Language School to distribute and solicit the completion of a short demographic survey to attendees of the 2014 COWF. The information collected in the survey will help our institution continue to expand our outreach to the 120 ethnic communities who call NE Ohio home. Concurrently, these students will serve as "bilateral language ambassadors," getting the chance to hone their English language skills while also offering to teach simple words and phrases to survey participants in their native tongue. We hope this exchange will empower these students, while also bringing international culture closer to Cleveland residents. Peace Corps volunteers will support these students and may also work without these students to gather these surveys.
If any of these projects interest you, please email Charity at charityrmcdonald@gmail.com
Thanks!
