What we do

NORVA seeks to connect Northeast Ohio RPCV's with each other and our community.  We do this by organizing members for volunteer events in Northeast Ohio, where our unique skills can benefit the community.  We also host dinners and happy hours at local ethnic restaurants  where volunteers can meet.  We assist with Peace Corps recruitment events.

NORVA funds projects for PCVs in the field and local projects that have an international focus. Funds are raised through member dues and fundraising activities organized by the group.

Some of the projects we fund include:

NORVA PAGE Grants
Peace Corps Partnership Program

We are also an affiliate group of the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) and a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization composed of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and friends living in northeast Ohio.

Our mission is to carry out the Third Goal of the Peace Corps by "bringing the world home."  Our organization has the following goals:

  • To foster a better understanding of international issues.
  • To educate others about the Peace Corps and assist in recruitment efforts.
  • To provide opportunities for RPCVs to exchange information and ideas, and to network with other returned volunteers.
  • To provide assistance to Peace Corps volunteers in the field.
