September 21 is the U.N. International Day of Peace so, while we have a long way to go, let's celebrate anyway!
We have recently made a connection with the Peace Garden of the Nations in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. Bring a fall picnic and spend some time with others dedicated to peace.
The location is a little tricky to find. The garden is at the corner of E. 99th and East Blvd. Google Maps uses these coordinates for it:1281-1285 East BlvdCleveland, OH 4410841.521789, -81.620345.
There is street parking along East Blvd. and E. 99th St.
If "picnic" is intimidating, do what I'm likely to do and pick up carry out on my way over. There are lots of great restaurants in the University Circle area that fit the bill for a quick bite on a busy night. Just make sure to bring a blanket or camp chair, too!
Also, keep an eye out for a service day at this location!
