Angela served as a rural community development volunteer in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica.

She extended her service for a third year as the Peace Corps Volunteer Coordinator. Angela currently lives on the near west side of Cleveland and works at Case Western Reserve University in the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning. Tom Schreiber Co-President

Served in Georgia 2006-2008

Tom served in a Youth Center in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia, where he worked with the staff to develop programs for teens.

Serving in the second largest city in the country with his wife Amy Moniot, he also led a nationwide environmental education project. The project created youth 'eco-clubs' in towns and villages across Georgia, published a 200 page curriculum for the clubs in Georgian, and held an annual youth camp in some of the wildest regions of the Caucuses.

Tom lives in Ohio City and works remotely as a manager for Tickets.com. His favorite part of NORVA are the service opportunities, and he is very grateful for the deep friendships he has developed through the group.

Haley McDonough Co-President

Haley served in the Mpumalanga province of the Republic of South Africa.  Her primary projects in schools were assessing and assisting educators in effective classroom management and teaching English.  As a resource specialist, Haley coordinated fundraising for  primary school health and sanitation infrastructure development.  Her community work included facilitating a life skills girls group and coordinating HIV/AIDS outreach events to empower participants with knowledge about effective preventative techniques and testing.

Haley lives in Lakewood and is a Middle School Math teacher for Lakewood Public Schools.  Haley has enjoyed becoming a part of the leadership team and serving local communities in unique projects.

Miranda Lange, Service Chair

Served In Mali, 2009-2012

Miranda served her first two years in Mali as a community health educator.  During her service she established a community health committee composed of trained villagers who promoted pre- and post-natal health, and healthy infant care practices.  She also spent her service hosting a show on the local radio station where she had weekly conversations with her Malian cohost about healthy practices and American culture.  Extending a third year, Miranda moved to a larger town where she collaborated with Malians working in family planning, training them in marketing and market research techniques.

Miranda is now pursuing a career in non-profit development, enjoys playing volleyball and continues to support and encourage the visual arts in Cleveland.

Miranda enjoys participating in NORVA because of the camaraderie she feels with other members who share her passion for service and her passion to connect with others across the world.
