Dear ESL teachers,
Us Together, a refugee resettlement agency located in Cleveland Heights, is currently seeking a part-time ESL teacher to start work as soon as January 2014. Our agency provides a wide range of services to refugees, which includes people who have a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Our services include the following:
- · Resettlement and placement: We welcome new arrivals at the airport, provide them a warm meal and help them settle in a new home.
- · Employment services: We help them search, apply and interview for a job in the Cleveland area.
- · Job Readiness training: We help prepare them for the work environment in the U.S.
- · Case Management: We assist them in attaining health screenings, a social security card, state ID, and to apply for a government assistance
- · English as a second language
The ESL program is a fundamentally important part of the overall refugee resettlement program, because speaking English allows them to integrate into the new society, hold a job and become self-sufficient. For this reason, we are looking for a trained ESL teacher, preferably with some teaching experience. Since this is a part-time job, we are willing to work around someone’s schedule if they are currently enrolled in an ESL teacher training program.
Please forward your resume to Mark Rodney, Employment Services Coordinator, or contact him directly by phone (21six-40six-818six) or e-mail (mrodney at ustogether dot us) to inquire about the job.
Best Regards,
Mark Rodney
