NORVA Board Member Job description


`Thank you for your interest in becoming a NORVA BOARD Member.  We have a great time volunteering, supporting Peace Corps Partnership projects and staying connected to the Peace Corps community.  We value as much, or as little time you have to offer.`


President

Responsibilities include: ensuring planning and execution of social events, business meetings, and fundraising activities. Works closely with President-Elect to achieve NORVA’s annual goals.  Assists Secretary in posting to social media, list serve, and website as appropriate.  Serve as the “face” of NORVA at social events or NPCA (National Peace Corps Association) related activities. Term length 1 year.  

President-Elect

Responsibilities include:  attend Board Meetings.  Collaborate with President on all NORVA related activities.  Assist Secretary as needed with media relations, social media, list serve and website updates. Serve as a leader among NORVA community and bring new ideas to meetings. Term length 1 year. 

Secretary

Responsibilities include: attend Board Meetings.  Collaborate with Board Members to execute all media related activities—press releases, Facebook, website and email. Vote on funding activities and bring new ideas/suggestions to group. Assist in the execution of NORVA related events. Term length 2 years. 

Treasurer

Responsibilities include: attend Board meetings.  Ensure NORVA funds are used appropriately and responsibly, as outlined in NORVA bi-laws.  File taxes annually and ensure 501 (c)(3) status is maintained.  Keep track of all NORVA spending and report out at annual meeting.  Vote on funding activities and bring new ideas/suggestions to group. Assist in the execution of NORVA related events. Term length 2 years.
