The Cleveland Council on World Affairs and the Cleveland Museum of Art are teaming up to host a screening of the acclaimed documentary A SMALL ACT on Friday, June 3 at 6:30pm in the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Morley Lecture Hall. Directed by Jennifer Arnold, this documentary reaffirms that individuals can make a difference. Chris Mburu was a child living in a village in Kenya when he first received a $15 scholarship from a Swedish woman named Hilde Back. Her steady sponsorship put Chris through school and eventually launched him into Harvard Law, paving the way to his job as a United Nations attorney. A SMALL ACT reveals just how powerful a gesture of kindness and generosity can be, and that an education is perhaps the most generous gift of all. Following the movie, there will be a panel discussion with international nonprofit leaders. Admission to the event is $9 or $7 for CMA, CCWA or students.
