1. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Detroit Shoreway Neighborhood
SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Economic Development Director will be responsible for the overall economic development, coordination and implementation of commercial/retail district revitalization for Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization (DSCDO). These responsibilities include recruiting and providing technical assistance to businesses, coordinating public improvements and governmental approvals in the commercial district, managing the Gordon Square Special Improvement District (GSAD-CIC) and support for marketing and special events. Bachelor's degree is required.
COMPENSATION - Annual salary $40,000 to $50,000 commensurate with experience.
2. REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
REPORTS TO: Director of Real Estate Development
SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Real Estate Development Coordinator will provide research and assist housing development staff in the acquisition, financing and development of housing projects. The position will focus primarily on multi-family tax credit projects, but will also work on mixed-use and single-family projects. Success within the position will depend on the ability to develop partnerships with property owners, developers, lenders, third party providers, city and finance agency staff and residents. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously while providing administrative support to housing development staff is essential. Bachelor’s degree is required.
COMPENSATION - Annual salary of $30,000 to $ 40,000 commensurate with experience
3. SINGLE FAMILY PROJECT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: Housing Director
SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Single Family Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the redevelopment of vacant and abandoned housing and the development of new housing in the Detroit Shoreway service area. Success of the program will depend on working with financial institutions and private sector and non-profit developers to rehabilitate vacant properties while also demolishing blighted properties to assemble land for future development.Bachelor’s degree is required.
